Saint Michael the Archangel Prayer

Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray.
And do thou oh prince of the heavenly hosts,
By the power of God,
Cast into hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits,
Who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls.

*(Pope Sixtus IV, in 1475, was the first to endow the recitation of the Angelus at noon with an indulgence. This indulgence was confirmed and extended by Pope Leo X in 1517 to whoever recited it in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, and Pope Pius XI (1922-1939) seems to have been the last one to grant an indulgence.)
