Holy Family Week

Join us each month in our Dominican Private Oratory for four consecutive days to celebrate Holy Family Week. Through penance and prayer, we are praying in reparation for the healing of the nations. These Holy First Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays of each month are medicine for the nations.

Our Dominican Private Oratory is located in Evansville, Indiana.
We livestream each of our services and past services can be seen here.

FIRST WEDNESDAY

12:00 PM – ROSARY

Devotion to St. Joseph

Every Wednesday is dedicated in a special way to St. Joseph. Make the Nine First Wednesdays (in a manner similar to the Nine First Fridays of the Sacred Heart) in honor of St. Jospeh for a happy death, for yourself and your dear ones.

As charity is one of the best ways to be worthy of the grace of a happy death, offer your first Wednesday Mass and communion and devotions in honor of St. Jospeh in a special way for the salvation of the dying, especially for the undying sinner who is to lose his soul without the grace of final repentance.

I am the protector of the Church and the home, as I was the protector of

Christ and His Mother while I lived upon earth. Jesus and Mary desire that my pure heart, so long hidden and unknown, be now honored in a special way.

Let my children honor my most pure heart in a special manner on the First Wednesday of the month by reciting the Joyful Mysteries of the rosary in memory of my life with Jesus and Mary an d the love I bore them, the sorrow I suffered with them.”

FIRST & EVERY THURSDAY

Devotion to the Precious Blood

Devotion the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ is not a new one in the Catholic Church. It is as old as the first Holy Thursday when Jesus Christ instituted the priesthood and the Holy Eucharist.

In 1995, Jesus Christ called for the first time Barnabas Nwoye, a teen from Nigeria, and appealed to him to console Him and to adore His Precious Blood, The messages, prayers, hymns and instructions given directly by Our Lord, His Mother Mary, the Angels and Saints constitute the Precious Blood Devotion.

For those of you who are not able to join us in our Private Oratory, we invite you to pray along with us at Dominic Medals Radio here.

FIRST FRIDAY

6:00 – 11:00 AM – ADORATION                     12:00 PM – ROSARY                       12:30 PM – BENEDICTION

Devotion to the Sacred Heart

The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus focuses on His divine love for mankind and encourages humility, gratitude, obedience and adoration.

in 1673, a french Visitandine (Visitation) nun named Margaret Mary Alacoque had visions of Jesus, wherein he asked the Church to honor His Most Sacred Heart. In particular, Jesus asked the faithful to “receive Communion on first Fridays, for nine consecutive months.” The request was connected to a promise made to all who promoted and venerated devotion to the Sacred Heart.

FIRST SATURDAY

CONFESSION, ROSARY AND MASS (Parish of your choice)

Devotion to the Immaculate Heart

The “First Saturdays of Reparation” (typically referred to simply as “First Saturdays”) for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary was not a new devotion, but it was even more popularized after Our Lady appeared at Fatima.

It consists of, on the first Saturday of each month for five consecutive months:

  • Going to confession (may be 8 days before the Saturday as long as one stays in a state of grace)
  • Receiving the Eucharist
  • Praying 5 decades of the Rosary, including the Fatima Prayer
  • “Keeping Her company” for 15 minted while meditating on all the Mysteries of the Rosary with the intention of making reparation to her. This can be done by reading Scripture or other writings relevant to the Mysteries, meditation on pictures of the Mysteries, or simple meditation.

The promise given by Mary to those who make the First Saturday devotion is her assistance at the hour of their death.
